Ways & Means

Sustainable Pace

How often do you feel rushed, “behind,” or pressured to speed up? Do you measure yourself in comparison to others? Does a sense of duty, obligation, urgency, or caring lead you to give to a point of burnout or resentment? We don’t all exist or process at the same rate, but most of us have been shaped, trained, &/or forced to work hard, move fast, compete, produce, and override our natural limits. What is the individual and collective cost of hustle culture? Just as the earth can’t sustain the levels of resource extraction, pollution, and extreme waste that neo-liberal capitalism dumps on it, the effects of our grinding show up sooner or later in the suffering of our bodyspirits. Together, we practice listening deeply to ourselves so we can align our boundaries and actions with our wellbeing, that of our families, communities, justice movements, & all life.

Slimy Space

Sometimes we have to turn to goo to get somewhere new. Perhaps you’ve heard the only way out is through? A caterpillar’s body liquefies in the cocoon before it re-forms and eventually emerges a butterfly. Even if we are committed to transformation, “coming undone” and hanging in the murk of our work can be scary, uncomfortable, and overwhelming. The slimy space requires our commitment, courage, and surrender. Thank Glob we don’t have to go it alone. When it’s time to face the unknown, I hold space as a nonjudgmental witness and reflective ally to your process.

Self Grace

Do you beat yourself up when you make the same mistakes across time, or find yourself back in old ways of being you thought you’d left behind? As frustrating as it can be to feel like you’re going in circles, sometimes we have to get softer with ourselves before we can get stronger. Let’s check your trail for clues about what’s served you in the past but is no longer. As we affirm the intentions and purpose of all parts of ourselves, we begin to unfurl new pathways to change where once we were stuck.

In the Play Place

Play—-it’s not just for children! Yet many of us have lost touch with or been cut off from this sacred gift. The good news is, however dormant they may be, we can always reawaken our ancestral play technologies. Vital to our resilience, creativity, and ability to connect to ourselves and others, play can surprise us with how deep it can go and what choices it can reveal. InterPlay is a creative, engaged way to unlock the wisdom of the body, utilizing our collective birthright practices of sound, silence, story & song, movement, stillness, dance & shape, witnessing, connecting & noticing. Check out my offerings to see what upcoming play spaces I am hosting!
